In order to ensure the building materials are asbestos free, our Asbestos Specialists remove a small sample and have it analyzed by an independent certified testing lab/facility. Removal of the suspect materials will not proceed until the presence of asbestos is confirmed or denied.
Asbestos was common in building materials prior to 1980, and because of this we test materials for the presence of asbestos if the structure was built before 1990. We always do this before removal procedures commence. Once removal procedures commence a containment barrier will be placed. Containment is often a temporary air tight barrier which is placed under negative air pressure; All air flows into the containment area through a true HEPA D.O.P tested negative air machine and is directed out of the building, making it impossible for any air borne contaminates to re-contaminate unaffected areas. Our containment barriers are always tested for proper operation before demolition begins.

Lung cancer May be caused by asbestos fibers in the lung. Although it is unknown exactly how asbestos causes lung cancer, research has shown that the combination of smoking tobacco and inhaling asbestos fibers greatly increases the risk of lung cancer.
Mesothelioma Is a rare but aggressive form of cancer affecting the lining of the lungs or the abdominal cavity. there is a confirmed link between asbestos exposure and mesothelioma.
Pleural thickening May develop after heavy asbestos exposure. The lining of the lung (pleura) thickens and swells, causing shortness of breath and discomfort in the chest.
