Taking a completely run down building that has been destroyed by disaster and restoring it is not a job for the unambitious.  When I foreclosed on this house, it was a complete ruin.  In fact, Mark Gotro was here at the ranch when it was first flooded with bursting, freezing pipes.  The previous owner couldn't afford to keep the building heated, so the pipes burst in winter and Hydraclean Restoration Services with the capable Mark Harding were there to clean up the mess, remove the drywall, keep the mold from forming, etc. And that's where the house stayed for about a year - a shell with all its guts ripped out, and the yard a complete mess with a collapsing deck. I have a lot of people from Kelowna visiting this site, and all of the people here know that it is VERY hard to get quality tradespeople to work on your project.  There is a massive shortage of skilled workers here.  There are two reasons why getting a disaster recovery place to do your construction is a great idea:

1) a restoration company always has skilled workers available 24/7.  And they know how to do every aspect of construction... electrical, plumbing... everything
2) a restoration company has to bill insurance companies, therefore they have VERY accurate invoicing, quoting and billing.  And because insurance companies are very chintzy and picky, a restoration company is very good at pricing fairly and competitively.  And they get the job done with maximum efficiency because they report to insurance companies - who are all business.

Anyway, I know that Mark Gotro and also especially Mark Harding spent many many hours tossing and turning about getting this ranch done.  In fact, Mark Harding code named this project, "Operation - Get 'Er Done". As I spent more time in this house, I forget about the fact that there were workers here for so long.  And then I'll sit in the couch and notice the really nice moulding or some other fine-work that I grrrumpily accepted without knowing how valuable the little touches would be as time went on.  I am very appreciative of the sacrifices Mark and Mark and all the crew made in making this ranch a dream come true!
